Household Hazardous Waste Collection

The Leon Valley Public Works Department will host a Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event on Saturday, October 10, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

This event is FREE and open ONLY to Leon Valley residents. Registration is required.

Resident Requirements

• Proof of Leon Valley residency is required.
• No commercial vehicles are allowed.
• Designated staff will unload waste from vehicles.
• Containers may not be returned.

Acceptable Items

• Auto waste — antifreeze, motor/gear oils
• Batteries — lead-acid, alkaline, NICAD
• Cleaners — water-based, ammonia-based, packed cleaners, loosepack
• Corrosives — liquid and solid
• Flammables — liquid and solid
• Lights — fluorescent lights and ballasts
• Oxidizers
• Paint — 15-gallon maximum
• Pesticides
• Toxic liquids, solids, and aerosols

Restricted Items

The following items will not be accepted:

• Tires

• Ammunition

• Explosives

• Radioactive materials

• Business waste

• Biohazardous waste

• Pharmaceutical waste

• Electronics
