911 Remembrance Program

(Sun), September 10, 2023

(Leon Valley, TX) (April 22, 2023) – The American Legion, Audie L. Murphy Post No. 336, will present their annual 911 Remembrance Program on Sunday, September 10, 2023, beginning at 1 pm in the Leon Valley Conference Center located behind the library on Evers Road. Our guest speaker this year is Leon Valley City Mayor Chris Riley. Later, Mayor Riley will join Post Commander, Richard F. Wood, for a moment of silence, prayer and Tapps as we pay homage to the victims of the September 11, 2001, attack on the World Trade Center towers. And not to be forgotten are the POW/MIAs still missing and unaccounted for from all wars and conflicts involving the United States Armed Forces.

At the conclusion of this special program everyone is invited to join post members for a light lunch of Subway sandwiches, chips, and beverage.

The American Legion is the largest veteran’s group in the world. Besides working in Washington, DC with Congress to improve veteran’s benefits, they are staunchly involved with their local communities. Audie L. Murphy Post 336 calls Leon Valley, Texas, home and is involved in many programs and activities in and around this community.

Parking is free at the Leon Valley Library area all day. ####
