SAWS 36" Water Valve Replacement – Wurzbach Rd & Evers Rd (6301 Wurzbach Rd)

 

The San Antonio Water System (SAWS) will be conducting major infrastructure work to replace a 36-inch water valve located at the corner of Wurzbach Road and Evers Road, near 6301 Wurzbach Rd.

To complete this work safely, a temporary road closure will be in effect.

Closure Dates:

Monday, April 27 – Thursday, April 30, 2026
(Lane closures may occur between 8:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. per traffic control notes)

Detours & Traffic Control:

Detour routes and lane closures will be in place according to the approved Traffic Control Plans provided by SAWS and their contractor.

These maps include taper lengths, lane closure configurations, barricade layouts, ADA pedestrian detours, and traffic signage.

Purpose of Work:

SAWS is upgrading underground infrastructure to ensure continued reliability of water service in the area. The valve replacement requires full and partial lane closures to maintain worker and driver safety.

What Drivers Should Expect:

  • Lane reductions and traffic shifts
  • Possible delays during peak times
  • Detours guiding vehicles around the closure area
  • Posted signs, barrels, barricades, and arrow boards directing traffic
