Huebner Creek Greenway Trail

Hosted by Bexar Branches Alliance

Thank you for your interest in volunteering!

This run of show and volunteer packet includes the key information your group will need to prepare for a fun, safe, and rewarding day of planting and caring for trees.

Bexar Branches Alliance, in partnership with the City of Leon Valley and its goal of planting 10,000 trees, will be planting 100 trees along the Huebner Creek Greenway Trail. This trail connects directly to the San Antonio hike and bike trail system, making it an important community corridor.

According to Global Forest Watch, Bexar County has lost approximately 20% of its tree canopy between 2001 and 2024. The addition of these trees is both educational and vital to the health of our community. These new trees will provide much-needed shade along the trail, support food security for residents and wildlife, help reduce the urban heat island effect, manage stormwater runoff, and improve local air quality.
