Drainage & Water
The supply and distribution of water in Leon Valley is a function of the Leon Valley Public Works Department. Water supply for the City is provided from two Edwards Formation water wells each capable of pumping 1100 gallons of water per minute. Chlorination is accomplished at each well site and monitored each day. Reports are filed with Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) as required.
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) required annual report on the chemical and bacteriological quality of the City’s drinking water is prepared and sent to each customer in June of each year. Leon Valley does not add fluoride to the drinking water.
Utility Billing is a part of the Finance Department. Water charges for residential and commercial users are determined by the Customer’s water usage during the billing cycle. The billing cycle is generally from the 15th of the month to the 15th of the next month. Water bills are due on the 10th of each month.
