Small city-front and center on national stage- Leon Valley featured on FEMA website and Newsletter!

According to Leon Valley Fire Chief, Luiz Valdez, "The City of Leon Valley was highlighted with two very positive stories in the most recent FEMA bulletin and newsletter."

Both of the recent FEMA notices are detailing the "Best Practice Model" efforts designed and implemented by the Leon Valley Fire, Public Works and Community Development Departments. With the full support of City Council and Administration, the Leon Valley residents are benefiting from leading edge Flood Preparedness and mitigation efforts that are being touted as examples for communities throughout Texas and the rest of the United States!

Both articles featuring the City of Leon Valley come just days before the Region 6 FEMA Officials will make a personal visit to the small town with "Big City" initiatives.

Mayor Chris Riley will unveil a High Water Mark at Raymond Rimkus Park on January 9, 2016, at 9:00 a.m. and announce supporting outreach efforts.
