       (SAME DAY AS TRADE & MARKET DAY)
Recycling isn’t just tossing your paper, cans, plastics and glassware in the green bins once a week – it’s also about saving money by reselling items that are in good condition, but that you are no longer using.  City Council approved this City-Wide Garage Sale to help bring visitors to our City – you gain space in your storage unit and garage and put $ into your pocket, and others can reuse (recycle) the bargains they find at your Garage Sale!

Although there are no permits or applications required for this one special day, garage sales on other days require a permit from the Leon Valley Police Department and each residence is limited to only two garage sales during any consecutive 12-month period. This special city-wide sale will not count toward your 12-month limit.   

Sale hours are limited to not earlier than 8:00 a.m. and not later than 6:00 p.m.  All sale items must be owned by the residents and displayed within their yard; no items may be placed on the sidewalk.  Garage sales starting before or after June 13, 2009 WILL REQUIRE a permit from the L.V.P.D. 

REMIND YOUR SHOPPERS – Leon Valley Trade and Market Day will be held June 13, 2009 from 9:30 am – 4:30 pm at the Community and Conference Centers!

Plan now to start sorting those items that can be reused by others – remember – one man’s junk is another man’s treasure!
