Leon Valley  - ENews

Program:
This program will accept email addresses from City website users, who wish to subscribe (or unsubscribe) to the Leon Valley ENews service.  The City Secretary’s office will be responsible for sending out news items to subscribers as news items are submitted from the City Council, the City Manager, and City Departments.  News items will be emailed to the list of subscribers within five business days of notification to the City Secretary’s office.  News items that need immediate delivery or are time-sensitive will be noted when delivered to the office of the City Secretary to insure timely delivery to the subscribers.

Mailings will be sent out in groups small enough to avoid having the messages considered to be “spam”.  The City’s website manager will provide format and forwarding of requests to the City Secretary’s office weekly so that subscriber lists can be kept up to date.

If mail is returned to sender (the City), more than two consecutive times from any email address, the email address will be deleted from the subscriber list.

Types of news that can be released on this service include: 

Notices of Council or committee meetings with links to City’s website for agendas

Announcements of City events

            Notice of surveys posted to City’s website

Notice of emergency operations and advisements

Notice of road closures with links to City or other public agency website

Notices of public hearings and public meetings

            Notice of closures or delayed openings

            Press releases and other information approved by either Council or the City Manager.

How to subscribe:
Through the City’s website, a link will be set up to for those who wish to subscribe to the Leon Valley ENews.  We will also publish a follow-up article in the City’s Lion’s Roar newsletter for the next issue about this new service. 

City website visitors can elect to subscribe, or unsubscribe, to the Leon Valley ENews service from the City’s website.  These email addresses are NOT open records under the law.  Email addresses will only be used for this subscription service.  Subscribers can unsubscribe at any time.
