ANNUAL
BEAUTIFICATION AWARDS!
WATCH for coming
announcements from our Community Events Committee -
April will be the month to get Leon Valley homes and businesses spruced
up, prettied up, and looking like award winners for judging before the
end of May 2010. The emphasis on xeriscaping is to have our community
be mindful of landscape survival in our hot and dry Texas summers.
With limitations on how much water we use, it's a money-saving idea and
a earthwise practice to plant Xeriscape and drought tolerant plants that
will help beautify our City and help you retain your property values.

Residents will
begin the gathering, clipping, cleaning for this year's Spring Clean
Up. Beginning on March 15th - you can put your items out for the next
week's pickup. Waste Management's truck will come down your street once
to make pickups - so have everything at the curbside by 7:00 am -
Monday, March 22nd.
Please note
there is a size limit of 8 cubic yards, which is roughly a pile of
debris 6 ft X 6 ft X 6 ft., for your items at curbside - you will
need to contact Waste Management for a personal pickup if you have too
much to put out.
REMEMBER
- next cleanup isn't until the Fall 2010 - so this is your opportunity
to have that old hot water heater, broken dresser, old mattress,
branches, broken outdoor chair - removed.
